Smartways' data centre environment is based in Northampton and offers a secure, resilient environment for hosting customer data and we are protected against infiltration and power outage.
Our data centre is highly controlled and access to the centre is restricted at all times, therefore offering the highest levels of security.
Further to this, the data centre in Northampton is not at ground level and therefore is protected against flooding and also has 3 other additional internal levels of security.

Data Environment
Using Hitachis TagmaStore AMS200 technology, we benefit from operating at RAID5 level, which allows us to offer industry leading guarantees of 99.9% uptime.
Power
Our site is equipped with an onsite UPS and high capacity generator, that in the event of a disaster will guarantee uptime of 24 hours +, which ensures that your data will be accessible at all times.
Encryption
Before data is backed up to our data centre, TouchPoint converts it into an unreadable format for added security, so that in the event of it being intercepted as it is travelling over the network to our data centre, your data will remain secure and unreadable at all times . This is achieved through using 256 AES encryption functionality, which will ensure your data reaches us safely and securely.
RAID 5
To provide additional insurance against data loss due to disk failure, each computer system in the secure data centres uses self-repairing RAID storage techniques. Inherent to RAID is built in redundancy, which enables the system to automatically recover, without loss of data, from a disk failure.
